52 Weeks (12 Months) or Receipt of Loan Request
Library contact has submitted loan request to the external lender including:
- Identifying information for requested works
- Desired display
- Importance of requested works in context of the exhibition
- Duration and location of exhibition
- Request for images needed for publication or online exhibition
- Facility report
51-50 Weeks (11-10 months) Prior
- Library contact follows up with the external lender to see if they have recieved the loan request or need any further information
50-0 Weeks (11-0 months) Prior
- Library contact stays in contact with the external lender about major steps
12-8 weeks (3-2 months) Prior
- Library contact confirms appointment for transportation and pick-up
4 Weeks (1 Month) Prior
Library contact:
- Sends certificate of insurance to the external lender
- Completes and signs the outgoing loan agreement; verifies countersignature from internal lender
1-2 days After Receipt of Incoming Loan
- Conservator completes incoming condition check
RETURN TO EXTERNAL LENDER
12-8 (3-2 months) Weeks Prior
- Library contact schedules outgoing condition check with conservator
8-4 Weeks (2-1 Months) Prior
- Library contact confirms return transport for loan with borrower, shipper, and/or broker
1-2 days Prior
- Conservator completes outgoing condition check
1 day Prior
- Loan is packed and allowed to acclimatize before transport
